The Restoration Initiative
About the project
The Restoration Initiative (TRI) is a programme that works in 9 countries across Africa and Asia. It links three Global Environment Facility agencies (IUCN, FAO and UNEP) with national governments and strategic partners. Together they restore degraded land in support of the Bonn Challenge. The programme has put over 319,000 hectares under active restoration. A further 343,000 hectares are under improved land management. This work has benefited more than 529,000 people. The site is the central source of information on TRI projects, partners and news. It also holds resources on forest landscape restoration.
