Conservation Non-Profit
Greyton Conservation Society

About the project
The Greyton Conservation Society (GCS) is a member-based non-profit organisation. Since 1979 it has worked to protect Greyton’s biodiversity, the natural landscapes around it and the village’s character. The site describes the society’s programmes. These are the Greyton Nature Programme, invasive alien plant clearing, the Saturday Greyton Village Market and the village-character committees. A “What’s On” guide covers the market, the monthly alien hack and the trails around the village. The Sophia Foundation backs a Rand-for-Rand campaign that matches community donations up to R500 000 a year. Clear calls to action ask visitors to become members or make a donation.
